The Telugu lunar month of Karthika Masam is considered very auspicious; it starts a day after the major festival of Deepavali. A popular ritual practised in this month is ‘Vanabhojanalu’, literally meaning having food in gardens. Also, as a group of relatives or members of a significant association, most families go on picnics this month and spend the whole day in a park or the wilderness under trees.
WAM Melbourne Vibhag has conducted a fantastic Vanabhojanalu event. WAM Melbourne Vibhag has joined hands with VAV (Vasavi Association of Victoria), VAV is another association in Melbourne. Games and events were conducted for all age groups, and there were unique games for couples, which stood as a high-light for the event. Excellent Satwik food has been served during lunchtime. Everyone had a great time in the end during Tambola and prize distribution activities.
